GADSDEN COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS INVITES THE PUBLIC TO
EXPERIENCE THE HOLIDAYS IN GADSDEN COUNTY
Holiday Events and Activities Scheduled in towns and cities throughout Gadsden County

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla- -The Gadsden Board of County Board of County Commissioners and the Gadsden County Tourist Development Council invite the public to experience the holidays in Gadsden County.

Highlights of the Holiday Experience include parades, a family movie night, live nativities, live entertainment by Steve Walden and the Legacy Band, holiday concerts, and visits from Santa.

The Holiday Experience will kick -off at 5 p.m., Tuesday, December 5, with a Family Movie night featuring the award winning and Grammy nominated film Home Alone at the William McGill Library in Quincy.

Thursday, December 7
Quincy Mainstreet presents Holiday Shopping, Sip and Stroll at the Gadsden County Courthouse, 10 E. Jefferson Street, Quincy, FL, 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Friday, December 8
The City of Quincy’s Land of the Gingerbread Christmas Holiday Parade. The parade starts at Ward’s parking lot and ends at the Gadsden County Historic Courthouse. Food trucks and sweet treats will be available on the courthouse square. The Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners and Gadsden County Extension Services staff will be aboard floats in the parade. Gadsden County Emergency Medical Services will feature a fire truck and ambulance. 6 p.m.

Immediately following the parade, the Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners will host a free live concert featuring Steve Walden and the Legacy Band at the West end of the Courthouse. Parade attendees are encouraged to attend.

Saturday, December 9
Quincy Mainstreet Presents Holiday Tour of Homes. Go behind the doors of six historic Quincy’s most iconic homes boasting exquisite architectural details and beautiful furnishings, all elegantly decorated for the season. For tickets visit quincymainstreet.org. 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Experience snow in Havana at the Havana Mainstreet Winterfest. Bring the whole family and play in real snow. Throughout the day, there will be vendors, live entertainment, and activities galore from 10 a.m. until 4.m. Attendees can experience a free carriage ride, train rides, hayrides, petting zoo, other family activities, and Havana’s Annual Christmas Parade.

Chattahoochee Mainstreet presents Christmas at Heritage Park. This free annual event for children will have a craft station for kids, a visit from Santa, Christmas candy treat bag, cookies and beverages from the Chattahoochee Woman’s Club and a Christmas tree lighting

Soul Santa Comes to Midway. Santa will be driving through the City of Midway to take photos with friends and family starting at 5 p.m.

Thursday, December 21
Senior 60+ Christmas Celebration Brunch, 122 N. Graves Street, Quincy. 101a.m. until 1 p.m.

Friday, December 22
Gadsden County youth, public officials, and community leaders will participate in a Live Nativity at New Bethel A.M.E. Church, 23209 Blue Star Highway, Quincy, starting at 6: p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

In addition to the activities listed, visitors can enjoy area attractions such as the Planters Exchange, the Florida Arts Trail, the Greensboro Depot Railroad, the Dale House Station, the U.S. Arsenal, the Old Gretna Schoolhouse, Pat Thomas Park, the Gadsden Arts Center and the Gadsden County Historic Courthouse, and downtown shopping in Quincy, Havana, and Chattahoochee.
