The Building Department ensures the health, safety, and public welfare of the built environment in Gadsden County by enforcing the 2020 Florida Building Code 7th Edition and related Gadsden County ordinances. It is responsible for processing building permit applications, plan reviews, code compliance inspections, and monitoring construction projects to ensure they meet the quality and safety standards as required by Florida.
The Building Department is dedicated to helping protect the life, health, and property of all the citizens of Gadsden County from the hazards of facility design and construction. Whether you are remodeling a home, building your dream house, or constructing a new business, we look forward to serving you.
Customers seeking to obtain permits are encouraged to submit using the online portal. All permit types are now available for online submission.

If you have never pulled a permit in Gadsden County, or it has been a year or longer since one has been issued, please fill out the Contractor Certified Registration form. This can be emailed to inspections@gadsdencountyfl.gov
*For any permit being pulled by a contractor, Gadsden County is now requiring that a Letter of Authorization from the property owner to the contractor is filled out along with the permit.*
*Please see Used Manufactured Home Inspection Checklist for requirements and regulations on used mobile homes. Gadsden County will require a Code Compliance Permit with a fee of $143.00 before moving a used mobile home within the county.*
*Any Permits changing the footprints of the property will have to go through Planning and Zoning first to meet their requirements. (850)875-8663
