Community Development Division

Thank you for your interest in Community Development! We are here to provide and maintain safe, sanitary and affordable homes to the extremely low to moderate families in Gadsden County.

We also have contracted with Big Bend Transit to provide transportation services through the Gadsden Express between Quincy and Tallahassee with stops in Midway and Tallahassee Community College. The Gadsden Express is a daily service and a great option for commuters.

Other duties of the Community Development Department include administration of the Brownfields grant program associated with the Environmental Protection Agency. This program is a catalyst for community revitalization. This program allows owners of real property which may have the presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant to apply for financial aid in the form of a grant or a loan through the grant process.
