GADSDEN COUNTY COMMISSIONER BRENDA HOLT AND THE FRIENDSHIP PRIMITIVE BAPTIST CHURCH COMMUNITY HELPERS TO HOST A
LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE COMMUNITY TRASH ROUND-UP DAY

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla -On Saturday, September 14, at 8 a.m., Gadsden County Board of County Commissioner Brenda Holt and the Friendship Primitive Baptist Church Community Helpers will host a Love Where You Live Community Trash Round-Up day. Volunteers will clean up the Friendship Community as part of the County’s Love Where You Live Keep Gadsden County Beautiful Campaign. The Love Where You Live Campaign was created by the Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners to engage the community in reducing litter and pollution in the County.

Cleaning supplies, including t-shirts, gloves, a safety vest, trash bags, and a trash picker, will be provided to volunteers and can be picked up at Friendship Primitive Baptist Church starting at 8 a.m. 

“God knows that Gadsden County is an amazing place to live,” said Elder Willie Gaines, Pastor of the Friendship Primitive Baptist Church. “The Friendship Community is part of Gadsden County, and we want to be proud of where we live and to do that, we as a community must do better at cleaning up after ourselves and putting litter in the trash can and not on the ground.”

Participants will receive a free lunch at noon at the church.

“I would like to thank Pastor Gaines and the Friendship PB Church Helpers for loving where they live enough to want to keep it litter-free,” Commissioner Holt said. “The backbone of District Four is the many churches in this area. We worship. We congregate. We learn, and we love where we live. Please join us in the Friendship community at the community trash round-up on September 14.”

When it comes to picking up litter, some Gadsden County residents might say: “I just don’t know where to start.” We already have that figured out. Residents can start in their neighborhood. We encourage everyone to spend 20 minutes a week to help keep Gadsden County beautiful.”

For those who would rather be responsible for the same stretch of roadway every year, the County’s “Adopt a Road” program is a perfect fit. Gadsden County Public Works Department will assign a stretch of road to an organization or group, print your organization’s name on a sign for free, and even give public recognition for the area they keep clean. All volunteers have to do is leave the bags of litter they collect next to the Adopt-a-Road sign, and The Public Works Department will come pick it up! The Adopt-a-Road Program is a perfect fit for churches, businesses, and service organizations looking to serve their community.
