“Combat Boots to Heels, A Salute to Women’s Veterans Day” Luncheon
GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla- -The Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners invites the public to Gadsden County Veterans Services “Combat Boots to Heels, a Salute to Women’s Veterans” Women’s Veteran Day luncheon on Wednesday, June 12 in Quincy.
Gadsden County Commissioner (District 2) Alonzetta Simpkins will be the guest speaker for the event. Commissioner Simpkins is an experienced administrator who specializes in needs assessment, planning, implementation, and budget management.
She has a wealth of experience that ranges from youth and education to healthcare. She has an established history of public service through non-profit organizations such as the YWCA of Greater Miami-Dade, Christ Crusaders, Inc., and Radiant Life Changers, an organization she founded to assist Gadsden County citizens in need.
Commissioner Simpkins is married to Steven Simpkins. They are the proud parents of Steven, Stephon, Lonzetta, and Alexis Simpkins. She is the daughter of Rev. Vivian Mitchell-Grant and the granddaughter of Ella “Mutta” Jackson.
Commissioner Simpkins is a proud and faithful Saint Hebron African Methodist Episcopal Church member. Her educational journey includes James A. Shanks, Barry University, and Jones International University. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Professional Administration and a Master of Education.
Her commissioner’s motto is that she is Available to Serve!
