The Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners Cordially Invites the Public to Attend the Gadsden County Veterans Day Celebration

 

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla- -The Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners and the Veterans Services Department invites the public to their Gadsden County Veterans Day Celebration in Quincy on Friday, November 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Gadsden County Courthouse.

The guest speaker for the event will be U.S. Army Ret. Sgt. 1st Class Charles F. Salem III. Salem is a native of Fort Pierce, Fla.  He is the husband of Dr. Monica N. Salem. They have two children, Ti’ara and Charles IV.  He currently resides in Quincy, where he serves as pastor of New Destiny Christian Church.

 Salem enlisted in the U S Army in 1991.  He is a graduate of the Henry Caro Non-Commissioned Officer Academy Fort Benning, Ga; The Basic Non-Commissioned Officers Academy Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Md; The Advanced Non-Commissioned Officers Academy Camp Shelby, Ms.; The Unit Small Arms Course, Vilseck, Federal Republic of Germany; The Defense Hazardous Materials Waste Handling Course, Fort Eustis, Va; The Wheel Vehicle Mechanic School Fort Jackson, SC; The Logistics Management Course Fort Eustis, Va; and Grantham University, Kansas City, Mo.

 Sergeant First Class (Ret.) Salem completed an overseas tour of duty in the Federal Republic of Germany, (Dexheim). His stateside assignments included Fort Riley, Kan, Fort Benning, Ga, The Charles Melvin Price Army Depot Granite City, Ill, 620th CSSB Saint Louis, Mo, the 14th Quartermaster Company Greensburg, Pa, and the 824th Airborne Operations Fort Bragg, NC. His deployments included Operation Joint Endeavor (Bosnia), and Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq).

 Salem had the distinct opportunity to serve The Department of Veterans Affairs Saint Louis Mo as guest minister. He has also served the U.S. Army Chaplains Ministry Team as a Pastoral (Lay leader) in the former Yugoslavia (Bosnia), and Iraq (Black Sheep Chapel). He also served as Pastor of the Gospel Worship Service for the 718th Engineer Company Fort Benning, Ga., Pastor of Royal Priesthood of Columbus, Ga, and Freedom Church of Jeannette, Pa.
